Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and nowhere else. Fog Log has no account and makes no network requests. See the privacy policy.

How do I back up my log?

Settings → Back up to a file. Save the file wherever you like — iCloud Drive, Files, or email it to yourself. Settings → Restore from a backup reads it back. Restoring merges rather than replaces, so it won't overwrite newer entries.

How do I give my log to a doctor?

Settings → Export for an appointment. That produces a short PDF summary written to be read in a few minutes, plus the full spreadsheet behind it.

Can I log a dose from the reminder itself?

Yes. Long-press the reminder, or pull it down when it appears as a banner, and tap Taken or Skip today. It's recorded without opening the app.

Why am I still getting a reminder for something I already took?

You shouldn't be — reminders for a dose you've logged are cancelled automatically. If it happens, open the app once and it will rebuild them. If it keeps happening, please write in.

My reminders stopped. Why?

iOS lets an app keep only about sixty reminders queued at once, which with a long list of items is a few days' worth. Fog Log refills the queue whenever you open it or act on a reminder, and in the background when iOS allows. If the queue runs out, the last reminder says so. Opening the app queues up the next batch.

Which way do the ratings run?

Higher is always better, for every rating: 10 is completely clear, completely rested, calm. The words under each row say which end is which.

How do I turn on weight, exercise, water, alcohol, or cycle tracking?

Settings → What else to track. Each is a switch, off by default. Turning one off later only hides it; nothing is deleted.

What counts as one drink?

12 oz of beer, 5 oz of wine, or 1.5 oz of spirits. Tap Drink once for each, and None on days you didn't drink.

Can I use metric units?

Settings → Units. The app follows your phone's region by default; you can choose metric or US by hand. Only the display changes, so your history stays consistent.

Does Fog Log give medical advice?

No. It records what you tell it. It does not suggest what to take, recommend a dose, or warn about interactions, and it is not a substitute for a clinician.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all my data erases everything from the device. Deleting the app does the same. Neither affects files you've already exported.
